Let's Talk About Climate: Exploring Ecovillages and Sustainability
A training course for youth leaders to manage ecological change
ERASMUS + TRAINING COURSE
LET’S TALK ABOUT CLIMATE
ZEGG ecovillage
Bad Belzig, Germany
With the programme we want to support the use of innovative practices to make people working with young people real change agents (e.g. by consciously addressing the climate crisis, exploring alternative and sustainable ways of living through an ecovillage, learning about permaculture principles, learning about Terra Preta, choosing sustainable food and mobility options, etc.).
Our project aims to encourage participants to behave responsibly and respectfully towards the environment, to make them aware of the importance of taking measures to reduce the ecological footprint and to transmit this awareness in their work with young people.
Learning by doing will be part of the daily structure, where participants will learn how to make terra preta, how to grow organic vegetables and much more. We will also spend time sharing tools that we have been using for years at ZEGG to address hot topics in groups while maintaining our agency.
The main objectives we want to achieve in this training course are:
● Reflect about climate, sustainability and our responsibility as citizens
● Discover together to what extent ecovillages and alternative lifestyles can contribute to the global reflection on the reaction to climate change
● Rethink, how to increase the multiplier role of ecovillages, i.e. to make them more visible to mainstream society
● Reconnect with nature, exploring alternative and more respectful ways of living
● Contribute to personal development and empower participants to engage in sustainable lifestyle and initiatives in their home environment
Participants are coming from our partner organisations in European Ecovillages. For further info you might contact Dirk Adams ().
