This text emerged from a concrete experience.
After our ZEGG Forum Foundational Training in Italy, something happened in which a boundary was crossed and sufficient consent was not sought. It stirred a great deal — among those directly involved, within our team, and beyond. Personal experiences were touched, as well as larger collective themes around power, gender and patriarchal conditioning.

What do we need to learn – as individuals, as communities and as a society – if we want to meet the challenges of our time differently?
Climate disruption, war, political polarisation, democratic uncertainty and growing loneliness are not abstract issues. They shape the lives of young people across Europe and the work of those who support them. At the same time, many people working for change experience a growing sense of exhaustion: the problems are immense, while the possibilities for action can feel painfully small.

Climate disruption, war, democratic backsliding, increasing polarization, and an unprecedented sense of loneliness are increasingly shaping the world we live in. Faced with these challenges, many of us dedicate our lives to education, community building, activism, or social innovation — driven by the desire to contribute to a more just, peaceful, and regenerative future.
Visits to the New World
A Brazilian couple, Débora Nunes and Emerson Sales, who have spent several years traveling to communities around the world recently visited ZEGG. They have summarized their experiences from their travels in the following article. They describe in particular the alternatives to social models that the various communities have developed. Many are based on similar principles (ecological, solidarity, etc.), but have developed special and interesting ways of implementing them. An article for anyone interested in communities as models for the future.
"In Service to Life: A Training for Conscious Peace-work” at ZEGG Ecovillage

We were both feeling stuck in the big city, yet unsure about moving somewhere smaller and leaving our lives behind.

Jack's Workshop for Refugees
